Sweden-based Ugandan forward Ritah Kivumbi rounded off the first round of the Swedish second tier in cloud nine and is looking forward to having an even better second phase.
In her last game, the pacy striker continued with what she had done all season as she scored her team’s sole strike in the game despite a 2-1 loss to Norrkoping FC.
Talking to Football256, the former Uganda Christian University player expresses her strong belief in an improved second stanza of the regular season.
“Am so happy about the numbers and what I have managed to fetch to the squad. I am improving day by day as a player here and that’s what matters now,” Kivumbi stated.
“Am going to triple my efforts when we get back to playing in just weeks,” she added.
About life at her new home, the ambitious player reveals the itchy motive to prove that she plays well anywhere.
“When I decided to join my club in the second tier from the top division, it did not look bright an idea to some people.”
“But as I said before, I am happy and motivated by the numbers in the games I have featured in so far,” she noted.
Her club Mallbackens IF finished ninth on a 14 team log. Kivumbi has featured for three teams in Vaxjjo dff, Norra Tangs and Mallbackens If Bk, but it’s with the latter that she has gained ground to unleash her full potential.
Together with other foreign-based forward players, she sums up a cocktail of offensive options for coach Farida Bulega for the upcoming national team action.
