Brights Stars FC stunned URA FC with a 2-1 victory in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 to advance to the last eight.
URA coach Sam Ssimbwa had hinted about URA winning the title because most of the would-be competitors like KCCA FC and Onduparaka were out of the competition.
Jamil Karisa is the name URA players and officials will curse after terrorising them with a brace that sent the tax collectors from reaching the money bracket.
By eighteen minutes, the silky Bright Stars lad had already scored the opener for the visitors, the goal separated the two sides till the end of the first stanza of the game.
Karisa netted the second immediately after recess which woke up the home side from slumber to at least reduce the deficit and restore parity in the long run.
The pressure yielded fruits in the 76th minute when captain Shafic Kagimu converted from the spot to reduce the deficit but the time wasn’t enough for the tax collectors to get back into the game.
URA join Express Bright Stars, Proline, Kyetume, Vipers, Nebbi Central, BUL and Wakiso Giants in the last eight.
