Savio Kabugo is one player many believed would be bullying strikers at a top European club by now, the gigantic defender was at the pick of his powers around 2015 before injuries stagnated the growth of his career.
Like a warrior the defender who is a product of the Proline Soccer Academy never gave up. Kabugo fought his way to full fitness with stints at KCCA FC, Proline and SC Villa before assigning for African Giants AS Vita in the 2019 January transfer window.
His first season with the Congolese outfit came to an end following the climax of the Linfoot Ligue1 and the God fearing defender was full of praise after his first season in the diaspora.
“I thank God for enabling me to successfully complete my first season at Vita,” Kabugo told www.football-256.com before adding.
“On coming here I set my targets which included getting playing time and I have achieved that much as it’s not easy to break into this team with many quality international players.”
“A different language which I don’t know but all was because of God. I must say it has been a nice season for me,” he added.
Kabugo is now looking forward to his first full season with the Florent Ibenge coached side once the 2019/2020 season commences.
“I am hopeful the coming season will be a very nice one as I have steadily acclimatized to the conditions of DRC and I want to be a main stay in the team which I will work for in the off season,” he added.
Kabugo managed close to nine appearances for the Kishansha based side in the Linfoot Ligue1 winning seven and drawing twice conceding only three goals while he was on the field.
