Ugandan international defender Savio Kabugo has returned to DRC at his AS Vita side, www.football-256.com has learnt.

Kabugo flew out of the country last week on Thursday evening and touched down in Kinshasa on Friday afternoon.

This website recently reported that the intelligent defender was not on Vita’s 2019/20 season roster after recruiting two defenders.

However, the club later requested Kabugo whose contract runs until 2021 to return for duty and immediately sent him an air ticket.

He on Wednesday morning trained with the rest of his teammates under the watchful eye of head coach Florent Ibeng who was much impressed with his fitness levels.

This weekend, AS Vita will play their third season match against arch-rivals TP Mazembe in the DRC derby.
