Reports indicate that Kyetume midfielder Nicholas Kasozi is close to completing a move to newly crowned UPL champions Express FC, a deal that will see him reunite with coach Wasswa Bbosa with whom they worked at SC Villa.
Football256 has learnt that the former Synergy player has been hunted by the Wankulukuku based side and the deal is soon getting done and dusted.
Express continue to hold business behind the curtains after securing former Kyetume goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and Bright Stars forward Joseph Akwandanaho.
And now they are back to lure Kasozi’s signature as they prepare for CAF Champions League qualifiers next season.
Since the player is still holding a year on his employment contract, the Slaughters are still in the full authority of the player and will have the last word on the midfielder’s future.
The 26 year-old midfielder managed to feature in only 15 games among the 27 played by Kyetume FC in the StarTimes Premier League and scored one goal. Reports also indicate that KCCA have expressed interest in returning Kasozi to Lugogo.
The midfielder christened as “Ugandan Iniesta” by former KCCA coach Mike Mutebi was highly tipped to gain glory as a Kasasiro Boy but he didn’t leave up to the billing.
Kasozi spent two seasons at KCCA FC where he got limited playing time due to recurring injuries and the long spells of going AWOL.
During his time at Lugogo, Kasozi managed to win the UPL title, CECAFA Kagame Cup and a Super Cup.
Kasozi is with no doubt one of the most talented midfielders in the country today and joining Express would be the right place for him to re-ignite his career more so under a coach who offered him his big break in the top flight.
Express FC has so far released two players in striker Frank Kalanda and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.
