During the January transfer window, Sports Club Villa added two more players to their squad in midfielders Francis Olaki and Saddam Masereka.

And head coach Edward Kaziba has heaped praise on Olaki and Masereka saying that the duo’s arrival gives the team a different dimension and also greatly add value to the team’s attacking options.

“We added two players in Olaki and Masereka and they have so far done well in training,” Kaziba said before adding.

“I am impressed by the two and I expect them to bring in a lot more to our team most in as far as creative and scoring goals is concerned and I believe they can do it,” he added.

Both players joined the 16-time StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions as free agents with each handed a two-year contract.

For starter, Olaki is Uganda Cranes forward Emmanuel Okwi’s young brother who has plied his trade at Extension Gunners in Botswana and FK Tirana in Albania while abroad and KCCA FC and Soana FC now Tooro United locally.

The name Olaki is more remembered in the 2013/14 season when he finished as the SUPL’s leading goal scorer with 15 goals while playing for Soana FC.

He has eight appearances for the Uganda Cranes and was part of the Cranes squad that represented at the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa.

Masereka, on the other hand, has previous featured for BUL FC and Nyamityobora FC and has on a number of occasions been involved with the Uganda U20 side the Hippos.

His recent involvement was in the 2019 U20 CECAFA Championship hosted by Uganda in Gulu.

They are both expected to boost Villa’s attack in the hunt for goals alongside the likes of Isaac Ogwang who has so far been impressive scoring two goals in five-game.

“Given that this is his first season in the top flight, the start was not bad but we expect a lot from him of course with the help of other players,” Kaziba noted.

Villa are seated ninth on the 16-team log with seven points from five games and they return to action on Saturday, February 13 against MYDA FC who were thrashed 7-0 by Vipers SC on Saturday.
