KCCA FC has lodged an appeal to the FUFA Player’s Status Committee contesting SC Villa’s interest and eventual signing of youngster Isma Mugulusi.
In a letter signed by their Chief Executive Officer Anisha Muhoozi, the Kasasiro boys claim the player is contracted to them and is a player on their books.
“KCCA FC signed an agreement with Isma Mugulusi using the stipulated FUFA guidelines on the status and transfer of players relating to minors on June 30, 2020,” read part of the letter.
They further paint the trail regarding their agreement with a player who spent the entire 2020/21 season at Busoga United.
“A four-and-half-year contract for the services of the player was signed by both the player and the parents on June 30, 2020, as a free agent.”
“The agreement was effective January 1, 2021, as requested by the player’s parents. The understanding was that the player completes his UACE education from Busoga SS, which was anticipated to be finalized by December 2020,” it adds.
KCCA also claim they paid a sign-on fee to the player and has been on their payroll since January 2021 as they had legally contracted him as per the FUFA guidelines.
“The club proceeded to pay all the sign-on fees as agreed between both parties. The club has accordingly been paying the player his requisite monthly allowance since January 2021.”
With registering initially agreed for January 2021, both parties agreed he gets done with the UACE examinations that had been rescheduled for March 2021 first, but would then register him in time for the 2021/22 season.
“The club then agreed with the player and his parents to forfeit registering him in January 2021 to enable him to complete his education, and thereafter, the club would then register him for the upcoming 2021/22 season.”
With plans to compensate Busoga United to finalize the deal, the club claims they are yet to receive a way forward from the relevant FUFA authorities.
“We have not received a conclusive way forward from the FUFA competitions Director in our quest to conclude the registration of our player.
Mugulusi was on Sunday unveiled as a Villa player for a statement signing by the Jogoo but his time at the club could only last days if the appeal is something to go by.
