Star Times Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC continued with their impressive start to the 2019/2020 season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Busoga United at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Mustafa Kizza’s 38th minute strike off his trade mark free kick ensured KCCA picked up their third consecutive victory at Busoga United’s home.
The visitors showed early intent as they controlled the game with their slick passing and continuous movement.
But they were lucky to survive a goal scare against the run of play, thanks to Gift Ali’s last minute clearance denying Dan Sewava tapping home from close range in the 20th minute.

Mike Mutyaba then forced a brilliant save from Busoga’s goal keeper Ali Kimera who was equal to the former’s 30 yard effort. Kimera was at it again this time playing as sweeper keeper to stop Erisa Ssekisambu who was through on goal.
KCCA finally found the breakthrough as Kizza brilliantly curled his free kick over the wall past a hapless Kimera.
Further efforts by Mike Mutebi’s men to extend their lead were largely unsuccessful but they managed to hold onto their slender lead till the end.
The result takes KCCA FC to six points, joint top with Vipers on the 16 team logo while Busoga have lost their second after their 2-1 loss to Tooro United in their opening fixture.
