Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA FC clearly know what is at stake at this stage of the 2019/2020 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

They must pick up maximum points against any side they come across in order to catch up with table leaders and arch-rivals Vipers SC.

The champions will make the trip to Jinja where they visit Kyetume FC at the Mighty Arena.

KCCA progressed past third division side CATIDA FC 2-0 in the Uganda Cup Round of 64 on Friday, with head coach Mike Mutebi labelling the opposition one of the toughest opposition they have faced so far this season.

The Kasasiro Boys were composed and collected in their victory on Friday, and they will need to be at an even better level especially on the road where they have not looked as convincing this season, losing five of their last 10 away games.

And Mutebi underlined the need for his side to pick up maximum points on the road; “We both (KCCA FC and Kyetume) have different aspirations but our aim is to win away,” he stated.

When the two sides met in the first round at Lugogo, KCCA were 5-2 victors over Kyetume. The League holders will be hoping Sulaiman ‘Mike’ Mutyaba, Muzamir Mutyaba, Mustapha Kizza and then debutant Sam Ssenyonjo who got on the scoresheet that day show up again to earn maximum points.

Only Allan Okello who scored on the day is unavailable as he has already completed his transfer to Algerian side Paradou FC.

The hosts are having a terrible run, the Mukono based side has won just a single game in their last five league outings; coming through a boardroom decision.

They were awarded three points for their game against Tooro United after the latter used an ineligible player.

The slaughters were comfortable 3-0 winners over regional league side SanSiro FC in the Uganda Cup on Saturday, and they will be optimistic that they can carry that performance forward and pick up their fifth home win of the season.

Veteran players Vicent Kayizzi, and forward Robert Ssentongo who have played for KCCA previously will be expected to push the visitors all the way.

Asked if former KCCA FC players in the Kyetume side can harm his side’s aspirations, Mutebi’s response was one of not being bogged down.

“I don’t think they (former players) will be a problem, although I know they are employed somewhere else and they are paid to play and get results but for us, we treat each game as it comes,” he said.

The Lugogo based side welcome back midfielder Saddam Juma, the injury-prone 27-year-old has been nursing a knee injury for almost four months.
