KCCA FC yet again showcased inconsistency as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Grounds in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Thursday morning’s match was a continuation from yesterday after it was abandoned after just nine minutes due to a heavy down pour.
Former Vipers SC forward Brian Kalumba put the hosts ahead through a 21st-minute penalty before Julius Poloto’s leveller a few seconds to the end of the first half.
In the second half, there was not a lot to report apart from substitute Charles Lwanga’s two half chances that he put off target in the 83rd and 90 minutes.
The stalemate means KCCA have won only once in the past five matches. They have won and drawn twice in the process.
They have stayed in their trademark fourth position with 42 points. They have looked a depleted side throughout the season.
Next, they will play hosts to relegation-fighting Busoga United who lie 13th on the 16-team log with 26 points.
Meanwhile, UPDF who have nothing to play for has failed to win in any of their previous five encounters; they have lost twice and drawn thrice in the process.
They are now seventh with 34 points and host title-seeking side URA SC who are second with 55 points. URA was beaten by strugglers Kyetume FC 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
