KCCA FC are looking at maintaining their top spot in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as they visit stalwart Kirinya Jinja SSS at the Mighty Arena in Jinja on Wednesday.
The Kasasiro Boys have to do whatever it takes to collect maximum points if they are to keep their title hopes alive.
It’s for that reason their manager Mike Hillary Mutebi is optimistic his side will be able to overcome the Jinja-based side despite their good record at home.
“We have what it takes in our team to negotiate that tie and get the positive result,” Mutebi said in the post-match press conference.
“We must win this game to brighten our chances of winning the title league and it’s the attitude and mindset we are going with for the tie,” he added.
Kirinya Jinja SSS have managed four wins and one loss from their last five league games, three of their four wins were at their home ground.

KCCA, on the other hand, have managed just two wins, two draws and one loss from their last five league outings.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, KCCA have managed three wins, the remaining two meetings ended in draws.
It’s because of that form that Kirinya Jinja SSS coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko anticipates and interest but tough game for the visitors
“It’s going to be a very competitive game, we are playing against a team that has players who have been exposed enough,” Kikomeko said
“It’s going to be an interesting game for the fans because we don’t want to make it easy for KCCA FC as we also have our own ambitions of finishing in a decent position on the log,” he added.
KCCA are currently on the top of the table with 49 points and a win will help them consolidate their supremacy on the top of the table with seven games to go.
Kirinya Jinja SSS, on the other hand, are seated eighth on the 16 team log with 33 points as their chase for top four is still on.
