KCCA FC had last picked an away win on the continent in 2015 when they defeated El Merriekh 2-0 in Sudan.
Since then despite taking long strides into the group stages of the CAF confederation and CAF Champions League in 2017 and 2018 respectively, they hadn’t won a game away from home.
On Saturday KCCA FC defeated Mtibwa Sugar 2-1 and 5-1 on aggregate to advance to the play off of the 2018/2019 Total CAF Confederations Cup.
It was also the first away win for the club on the continent under Mike Mutebi.
KCCA got the lead through Muzamir Mutyaba in the 28th minute after he capitalised on an Allan Okello brilliant pass.
Mtibwa levelled matter through Salum Kihimbwa after 51 minutes, then they needed four goals without return to advance.
That was not going to happen, two minutes to full time, Allan Okello restored KCCA FC’s lead,l his second in the tie having scored in the 3-0 win at home.
KCCA FC will wait for the draw slated for December 29th to know their opponents as they aim to play in the group Stages of the inter club competition.
