KCCA welcome dogged URA side

By Football256 Team

The last time URA FC visited KCCA FC at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, the result was very unpleasant, and the hosts just turned hostile that day.

The 7-2 in favour of KCCA FC was very uncomfortable, in that URA’s coach at the time Paul Nkata didn’t only refuse to show up for the post match press conference but also stepped down thereafter.

A decision probably he made while the game was going on, but URA have gone a run of 11 games without defeat at home, but have only picked three wins along the way.

The time comes at a time when the Kasasiro Boys are badly in need of three points to keep their title hopes alive but also bounce back from the one all draw against Police.

“We are prepared and ready for the game, it’s our task being the best team in the league,” KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi said in the prematch press conference on Monday morning.

“It is will not be an easy game but we prepare players for moments like these, and I believe my players are going to react after losing two points against Police.”

“URA is very organized defensively, they have conceded the least goals (eight) in the league but our task here is to dismantle their defence,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sam Ssimbwa is eager to see how his teams reacts after losing 2-1 to Bright Stars at the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16.

“Currently the morale of the players is down, but we have to lift ourselves up and put up a good show against KCCA, they won’t be an easy side to beat home and we have a game plan that we believe will work for us,” Ssimbwa told

URA have lost just two games in league this season against KCCA (1-0) and Maroons with a similar margin while KCCA FC lost to Express 3-2 in their only loss of the season.

A win for URA will cement their fourth status but also close the gap on third placed Mbarara City, while KCCA FC will need to pick three points to strengthen their grip on the summit of the log.
