A hugely disappointing game at the Kakyeka stadium ended with KCCA FC extending its winless streak at the Kakyeka Stadium in a goalless stalemate with Mbarara City FC on Wednesday afternoon in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

KCCA have failed to win in each of their last three visits to Mbarara and while interim coach Morley Byekwaso rallied his team for a win, it was never to be as his boys were shy off their brilliant best.

The visitors were limited to only a few half chances in either half as the hosts who looked to be in a better physical shape frustrated them in the final third for the biggest part of the game.

The Kasasiro Boys did not master a single clear-cut goal scoring chance save for Julius Poloto’s long range strike that flew inches over the bar.

Forward Charles Lwanga looked to influence matters more in the second half, setting up Hassan Jurua and Sadat Anaku in the 55th and 57th minute respectively but none could break the deadlock.

The home side forced KCCA custodian and captain Charles Lukwago into a save from Solomon Okwalinga’s speculative effort from 25 yards.

In the end, a draw was the deserved result for either team on an afternoon with nothing noteworthy.

Morley Byekwaso’s side now sit fourth with 34 points and will make another long trip to West Nile to face Onduparaka FC at the Aba Bet Greenlight Stadium on Sunday, April 25.

The Mbarara boys who stayed in their 11th position welcome record champions SC Villa on Saturday, April 24.
