Kenya: Gor Mahia replace Tuyisenge with Ivorian hitman

By Football256 Team

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have confirmed the signing for Ivory Coast striker, Gislein Yikpe Gnamian from Ivory Coast top-flight side, Club Gagnoa.

The lanky striker is expected to fill the void left by Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge who quit the club for Angolan giants, Petro Atletico a few weeks ago.

Gor Mahia coach Hassan Oktay recently admitted that his side needed to sign a quality striker to replace Tuyisenge who he termed as the best striker in the region.

Yikpe’s arrival means the record Kenyan Premier League League champions will have to offload one foreign player to create room for the attacker.

KPL rules allow a team to have five foreigners in their books at one given time. Gor has Francis Mustafa, Hashim Sempala, Shafik Batambuze, David Mapigano and Dickson Ambundo. Gislein’s arrival means one foreigner will have to exit.

Eighteen-time Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have added firepower to their attack ahead of the 2018/2019 season by roping in Ivorian hitman Gislein Yikpe Gnamian.

The twenty-three-year-old who featured for Sporting Club Gagnoa in the Ivory Coast top-flight division is a direct replacement for Jacques Tuyisenge who transferred to Angolan outfit Petro Atletico at the close of last season.

Gnamian scored five goals for SC Gagnoa having featured for half-season in the fourteen-team league. In the 2017-2018 season, he scored nine goals for Hafia FC in Guinea’s Ligue 1. He had featured for Ready JCAT in the 2016-2017 season where he netted seven times.

The forward earned pre selection in a competitive Ivory Coast national Under 18 team during his teenage days and managed to break into the squad.
