Ugandan striker, Umaru Kasumba has left Kenyan Premier League side, Sofapaka, club president Elly Kalekwa has confirmed.
Kalekwa admitted that the team’s bad financial situation wouldn’t allow him to offer Kasumba another deal.
“Our financial situation is bad. We could not offer him another deal and we wish him all the best, he did a good job during his time here,” Kalekwa said.
Kasumba has walked out on the cash-strapped Kenyan outfit after the expiry of his contract and has several offers on the table.
Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and Tusker FC are thought to be interested in the attacker who joined Sofapaka in mid-2017 and went on to score 38 league goals.
The former SC Villa man finished third on the topscorers’ charts during the 2018/2019 Kenyan Premier League campaign, three behind golden boot winner Enosh Ochieng.
Apart from Kasumba, captain Steven Waruru, Cliff Kasuti and Pistone Mutamba have all ditched the club.
