It is rare for most football players to move to a new club in a foreign country and quickly acclimatize to that environment but for Erisa Ssekisambu, the reverse is true.
Following his move to Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC from Ugandan side Vipers SC, many thought he would struggle to adapt to the football environment.
That wasn’t the case thanks to the brotherly guidance from fellow countryman Shafiq Batambuze who gave him a softer landing despite a few challenges faced here and there.
In an exclusive interview with www.football-256.com from Nairobi, the former SC Villa and URA FC forward seemed hungry for more success next season.

“I am happy that I guided my team to the league championship in my first season. Generally, it was a good season for me,” Ssekisambu said before adding.
“I got playing time and exposure in the CAF Confederations where we reached the quarter-finals and I hope to put up a more better performance next season so that I can move to the next level.”
In his first season at Gor mahia, Ssekisambu netted five league goals with two assists which guided the side to their 18th Kenya Premier League championship, he also scored three goals in the GoTV Shield cup.
Ssekisambu is one of the three Ugandans at Gor Mahia, Batambuze and Hashim Ssempala are the others.
