Kenya: Ugandan quintet joins Sofapaka

Kenyan Premier League side, Sofapaka, has confirmed the signing of five Ugandan players ahead of 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League campaign.

Batoto Ba Mungu parted ways with all their foreign players after the close of 2018/19 season and have now recruited five to fill the slots vacated by the five players.

The newly signed players include Bright Stars Keeper Jimmy Kanakulya, Mohammed Kasirye a midfielder from Paidha Black Angels, Allan Katwe also a midfielder from Nkumba University team, defender Musa Malunda from BUL FC and URSA striker Peter Luwasa.

“Sofapaka would like to confirm the signing of five Ugandan players added on to the roaster for the 2019/2020 season,” read the club statement.

“The five are goalkeeper Jimmy Kanakulya from Bright Stars, midfielder Mohammed Kasirye from Paidha Black Angels, Allan Katwe from Nkumba University, striker Peter Luwasa from URA FC and defender Musa Malunda from Bul FC.”

“The players penned their contracts at the club offices on Tuesday afternoon having trained with the club under the watchful eye of head coach Divaldo Alves for the entirety of last week,” the statement concluded.

Other new players at Batoto Ba Mungu include Cersidy Okeyo, Timmonah Wanyonyi, Philip Muchuma, and Brian Nyakan.
