Versatile, fast, agile, technically apt with great aerial prowess and extremely comfortable on the ball, youngster Kiano Kitariko is the ultimate definition of what you would desire in a defender.
The center-back, who is also a great fit at right-back, has seen his development get from one important step to another, through some of the best football structures.
“I’ve played football since my childhood, and It’s my dream to eventually turn professional. My parents continue to support me as I continue to develop my skills,” he revealed to football256.com in an interview.
The 18 year old kick-started his dream at Rising Stars Soccer Academy, featuring from 2015-2018 before he joined Elite Football Academy the following year.
Two years later, he joined Kings College Taunton Somerset in the United Kingdom which he played for till 2021.
Kitariko has since joined the University of Derby in England, where he juggles football and his higher education.
Currently, he is with the KCCA FC U20 team that is in Tanzania for the Cambiasso and Rainbow International Tournament, where he is keen on impressing.
“Getting that key breakthrough in Football is not easy but I am aiming for the top and I’ll not tire until I get there,” he said.
The 6ft-1inch defender is not short of success despite the young career, he is a 2017 winner of the Rising Star Tournament.
He is a runners-up in the Schwans Cup in Minnesota, US the same year, he also scooped the Major Colors Sporting Award at Kings College in 2021.
However, his biggest achievement has been receiving two successive Uganda U20 summonings in 2020 and 2021, a feat that can only steer up to desire for even bigger success.
“I dream to play professional football with some of the top sides in the world,” a notably determined Kitariko added.
Kitariko, with his ability, determination for greatness and the right attitude, can only see his star shine even brighter.
