Kisala to hold trials as he embarks on building football giants

By Clive Kyazze

Newly appointed Wakiso Giants coach Kefa Kisala is to officially start work on Tuesday June 18th at Kibuli SSS with a trial session.

Kisala who joined Wakiso Giants on a two year deal wants to get a player or two he can add to the already available squad ahead of the 2019/2020 football season.

“Reason we are conducting trials is because there so many good players out there without an opportunity, so when you call for trials you get a chance to spot such players,” Kisala told Salt TV.

“We don’t hope to take many, but we shall pick those few who meet the grade to deliver for Wakiso Giants currently or even in the future,” he added.

Kisala was fired by Express FC midway the 2018/2019 season and he revealed what prompted him to apply for the Wakiso Giant job and what he hopes to achieve.

“It’s an organised side with so many ambitions and they have a project they want to build. Then when you listen to their name Wakiso Giants, it’s clear they want to be giants of football in Uganda”

“I have been with starting clubs before like BUL and Water, but to avoid being a mediocre team, you can’t go three years without winning a title. So that is my ambition and the ambition of Wakiso Giants,” he added.

Kisala will work with James Odoch as his assistant together with Ali Kigunduu as the goalkeeping coach and their first test to competitive football will be in the Pilsner Super 8 competition this August.
