Kitara FC thrashed Kyetume FC 4-1 to ensure that they spend the 2022 Christmas on top of the FUFA Big League table.
The Hoima-based club leapfrogged Mbarara City FC who lost their first league game 2-1 to Luwero United FC.
Uganda Cranes striker Patrick Henry Kaddu bagged a brace for Kitara taking his tally to 12 goals in 11 games and he is the leading goal scorer in the Big League.
Besides Kaddu’s double, Kitara’s other two goals were scored by Edson Agondeze and Moses Sseruyidde.
After matchday 11 of the Big League, Kitara leads the proceedings with 23 points level with second-placed NEC FC but the former has a better goal difference.
NEC equally edged Booma FC 1-0 in Masindi to move from third to second place whereas Mbarara City dropped from first to the third position after the defeat away in Luwero.
Meanwhile, as Kitara, NEC, and Mbarara continue occupying the three promotional positions, Police FC is also watching on closely in the fourth position with 20 points having edged Adjumani Town Council FC 2-1 at Paridi Stadium.
