FUFA Big League leaders Kitara FC have announced the signing of former Express FC and URA FC defender Farouk Katongole.
Katongole has put pen to paper on a six-month deal that will see him at the club till the end of the season after he was unveiled on Monday.
“Farouk Katongole joins us on a six-month contract from Express FC,” confirmed Kitara via their official social media pages.
The defender, who joined Express at the start of the season after he was released by URA, didn’t command a starting place in the Red Eagles’ backline.
He joins the promotion hopefuls with vast experience having previously featured for Tooro United FC, Bright Stars, URA, and Express.
Katongole becomes the fourth signing for the Royals joining Paul Mucureezi, George Ssenkaba, and Godfrey Lwesibawa.
In their quest to gain promotion to the top flight, Kitara finished the first round top of the log with 31 points after 15 matches, one point above second-place Mbarara City FC.
They will kick off the second round away to Northern Gateway on Thursday, February 9th, 2023.
