Former KCCA FC player Rodgers Aloro scored a last-gasp header to help Tusker FC hold Sofapaka to a two-all draw in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Sunday afternoon at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Sofapaka went ahead in the third minute through Umaru Kasumba who rose high to head home his 16th goal of the season from a free kick.
Three minutes into the second half, Batoto Ba Mungu got their second of the match through the shortest player on the pitch, Brian Magonya who headed home an Eli Asieche corner kick.
Against the run of play, Tusker halved the deficit through Boniface Muchiri who slotted past keeper Justin Ndikumana from close range.
Aloro then completed the comeback in the 96th minute rising high to head home a Sammy Meja corner kick against his former club.
Sofapaka coach John Baraza was far from impressed with referee Andrew Juma’s performance.
“The referee cost us this game. The additional time was four minutes and we ended up conceding a goal in the 96th minute, how do you explain that? The ref is squarely to blame for the two points dropped today,” he said.
Sofapaka remain second in the log with 52 points while Tusker is 6th with 41 points.
