Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba has set his eyes on scoring 20 goals in the Kenyan Premier League this season.
The Sofapaka attacker bagged a brace on Sunday against Mathare United to take his tally for the season to 14, one goal behind leading scorer Allan Wanga.
In an interview with www.fotoball-256.com, Kasumba who has scored Sofapaka’s last seven league goals said he has set a personal target of 20 goals this season.
“I am happy with my progress so far. My duty as a striker is to score goals and right now I am doing that so I am happy and hopefully I can continue to do that, I set a target of 20 goals and I strongly believe that I can achieve that,” he said.
The former SC Villa marksman is also confident that he will walk away with this season’s golden boot despite being a goal behind Kakamega Homeboyz’ Wanga.
“I have full confidence in my abilities. The golden boot is mine to lose. I respect the other players who are in the race for it but I believe this season’s golden boot will be mine.” he noted.
Kasumba will have a chance to add to his tally against Posta Rangers on Wednesday in Machakos with eight games to go for second placed Sofapaka this season.
