Newly appointed Uganda U17 National Team Head coach Samuel Kwesi Paa Fabin is a fascinated man after four days of training with the team.
The Ghanaian tactician fell in love with the piece of skill exhibited by the youngsters as they prepare the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
“I must say that I am impressed with most of them, they are very talented players, very skilful,” Kwesi said before adding.
“Skill and talent alone cannot take you there, you need to add some effort, and talent without effort is nothing that effort is what we add on talent to make it big in the football market.”
The Cubs have been in Camp since March 23rd at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru as they prepare for the forthcoming 2019 Total U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
“We shall teach them transition from defence to attack quickly, it’s about the movement in the box you don’t pass and cross anyhow you know at U-17 it’s not coaching its teaching.”
“In a game situation, you need to win before possession, we are not going to press anyhow, and we shall do it uniformly,” he added.
The eight-team tournament is scheduled for April 14 – 28 with games to be played at the National Stadium, and Chamazi Stadium, Mbagala all in Dar Es Salaam.
Uganda is in group A with the hosts Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola, their opening game will be against Angola on April 14th.
The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil as the CAF representatives.
