Leaders KCCA FC demolish struggling SC Villa

Goals from Mike Mutyaba, Mustafa Kizza, Allan Kyambadde and Allan Okello saw thirsty KCCA traumatise SC Villa with a 4-2 win in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league game played on Saturday at Lugogo. 

The tempo of the game was up there, the action on the pitch was end to end and saw both teams miss several scoring opportunities. 

SC Villa was the first to get a clear cut chance as Pius Wangi dribbled past Hassan Musana but his left foot shot was saved by skipper of the day Charles Lukwago in the 10th minute of the game.

In the 19th minute, KCCA’s Mustafa Kizza had a curling free kick on Villa’s goal but goalkeeper Saidi Keni was well positioned to save his side from conceding.

One minute later KCCA survived a scare when Villa’s Pius Wangi squandered a golden opportunity from Ashraf Mandela’s cross.

SC Villa at the receiving end at the half hour mark, this time around Allan Okello fired a powerful shot from outside the area but his shot went out and wide, before Mustafa Kizza curling free kick kissed the post.

Mike Mutyaba broke the deadlock for the home team from a counter attack when SC Villa’s Sulaiman Majanjalo lost possession in his own half, that was three minutes to the break. 

In the 50th minute, Mustafa Kizza doubled KCCA’s lead with a sweet curler, SC Villa’s custodian Saidi Keni had no chance whatsoever to save his side.

In this fixture last season, Allan Kyambadde was featuring for Villa, he returned to torment them with a third at the hour mark. It was a well constructed move.

Two minutes later Asuman Alishe fouled Allan Okello in the forbidden area, the latter picked himself up to make it 4-0. Villa pulled one back in the 68th minute when Charles Lwanga connected home a well constructed move.

SC Villa dominated the last ten minutes of the game by creating several chances, that’s when Ambrose Kirya grabbed a second, but they couldn’t get out of the ditch.

The win put KCCA on 48 points, three points above second placed Vipers SC while SC Villa remained 12th with 23 points.
