The versatile Joshua Lubwama has set his sight forward to reviving URA FC’s season after penning a two-year contract.

Lubwama has joined from Wakiso Giants FC and he comes in at a moment when the Tax Collectors are struggling in the Uganda Premier League.

“I am happy to be joining URA FC, it is a dream come true as this is one of the biggest clubs in the country,” Lubwama said after his unveiling before unleashing his immediate target.

“I am aware of the club’s position and one of my targets with the help of my teammates is to help the team get back to where it belongs.”

His versatility speaks volumes about his game given that he can operate as a central midfielder as well as in defense while he is also a dead-ball specialist meaning he can help the team score goals.

Lubwama joined Wakiso Giants in 2020 from BUL FC while he had previously featured for Ndejje University FC.

At his previous club Wakiso, the Uganda Sand Cranes player played 55 games and scored eight goals.

URA are preparing for the second round of the season and before the signature of Lubwama they had announced the departure of striker Derrick Nsibambi and assistant coach Baker Mbowa.

They finished the first round in an unfamiliar position 11th on the 15-team UPL log with 14 points from 14 games a position they will be hoping to improve in the second round.

Sam Timbe’s charges will be a way to Onduparaka FC at AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Arua on February 11th, 2023 for the beginning of their second round.
