KCCA made short work of newly promoted side MYDA FC with a comfortable 4-0 victory at the MTN Omondi Stadium to get their wobbling season back on track on Saturday evening.
Mike Mutebi’s charges who had failed to win in their last four league games went ahead inside just five minutes. Defender Moses Aliro with an easy finish off Charles Lwanga’s assist.
Aliro and Lwanga combined and nearly put the hosts two goals up, but the latter’s effort was well saved by Andrew Ssekandi who started in goal ahead of captain Isaac Osikol.
Lwanga who had a blistering performance throughout the game hadthe ball in the back of the net for but the goal was chalked off for offside.
Lwanga again had a great opportunity to put the Kasasiro Boys 2-0, but he failed to beat Ssekandi with half an hour played.
The visitors’ best opportunity of the opening 30 minutes fell to Ibrahim Nsimbe, but the striker’s effort was well saved by KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago as KCCA took a 1-0 lead into the half time break.
Seven minutes after the restart, Bright Anukani doubled KCCA’s lead with his first goal for the club since completing his loan move to Lugogo in August.
With 20 minutes to go, KCCA turned on the heat against their visitors. Aliro and Lwanga both came close but still a second remained elusive.
Following a period of total dominance, the flood gates finally drew open as the Kasasiro Boys scored thrice inside the final seven minutes.
Lwanga deservedly got his name on the score sheet with a sublime finish from Herbert Achai’s pass.
He completed his double with another clever finish in the 88th minute with Birght Anukani completing the routing from the penalty spot in added time.
KCCA who currently lie seventh on the log will look to build on the victory when they travel to the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium to visit Wakiso Giants on Wednesday.
MYDA on the other hand continue to dwell in the bottom three and are yet to register a victory eight games into the seaaon with a home tie against in-form Express FC to come on Tuesday in Tororo.
Elsewhere, Wakiso Giants registered their seventh stalemate of the season after playing to a goalless draw with URA at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.
