Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Moses Magogo has announced his intentions to run for a third term of office.
Magogo has been at the helm of Uganda’s football governing body since 2013 and was voted for a second term in 2017.
Speaking during a media engagement at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga, Magogo who has for a time deflected questions of whether he will run for another term.
He has always said he will disclose his intentions for another term at the best time declared that it was about time he made his intentions clear.
“I am going to stand for another term,” Magogo declared before adding; “You are all aware that the election period is already underway and in that regard I want to make clear my intentions.”
“For a while now, many of you have been asking me what my intentions were, and i have deflected them but I think it is the right time,” he added.
Elections for the next FUFA president are scheduled to take place in August with district football associations and regional level elections already underway.
There has been no candidate besides Magogo who has declared his intentions to run for office.
