Caesar Manzoki bagged a brace as he inspired Vipers to a 3-0 victory over Busoga United as they took the first leg advantage in their Round of 32 clash at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Manzoki continued his imperious goal scoring form scoring four goals in less than a week, adding to his double against UPDF in the league.
Ibrahim Orit had opened the scoring for the Venoms in the 32nd minute off Disan Galiwango’s cross before Manzoki doubled their lead again via a Galiwango cross at the stroke of half time.
In the 89th minute, Manzoki completed a comfortable evening for Vipers. This time, Dan Sserunkuuma was provider, sliding in a sweet pass for Manzoki to score his team’s third on a day when they could have easily scored more.
The victory is a huge advantage heading into the second leg in Jinja next week on April 12.
Elsehwere, Onduparaka were held to a draw by Luweero United in their encounter played at the Aba Bet Green Light Stadium in Arua.
Police FC were 5-0 winners over second division side Calvary FC while nine time winners SC Villa were stunned 1-0 by Ndejje University in Bombo.
