Vipers SC forward Cesar Monzoki has come out loud and played down rumours linking him to an exit away from Kitende.

Unarguably, Manzoki is the Venoms’ most successful foreign player, but according to some sources, he intends to leave St. Mary’s Stadium sooner than later.

“I know there are a lot of clubs outside Uganda that are interested in me, that I admit,” Manzoki told the media after he was named the Uganda Premier League Player of the Month for December.

“But, I am not leaving Vipers just yet because this club has been there for me, especially the President, Dr Lawrence Mulindwa.”

“If I am to move on, it will not only be my decision, but also his because he has a dream of making this club one of the best on the continent, and I want to be part of the story. That is my challenge and dream as well.”

“I am not a selfish person, and if Dr Mulindwa says that I should stay here for 10 or more years, I will do that,” he added.

Although the Congolese forward struggled a bit in his maiden season in the UPL in 2020/21 through multiple injuries, he is having an impressive 2021/22 campaign so far, where he is the leading goal scorer with nine league goals.

The other foreign-based player in Angolan Nelione Jose Tavares has already left the club, just a month into his two-year contract after the deal was mutually terminated.
