Busiro head coach Ronald Lukungu has refused to be taken up by excitement with his side’s impressive start to their Airtel Masaza Cup campaign and title contender tag and has implored everybody to remain level headed.

The runners up in the 2019 Masaza Cup edition registered their second consecutive win after a hard fought 2-1 win over Busujju on Wednesday afternoon.

“We shall handle it game by game for better analysis,” Busiro coach Lukungu told the press after the game.

“We are still preparing hard because we respect all our opponents and by going step by step, we are eager to scoup maximum points that will help us manoeuvre through the group.”

“I must confess I expected a tough challenge because it was their first game and they had a lot to prove they put up such a great performance,” the soft-spoken tactician added.

“But am glad the boys replied, yes we were the first to concede but later on the boys put up a stronger fight. We had small issues to put to order and at the end we took the day,” he concluded.

Busiro came from a goal down to claim all three points and further brighten their chances of reaching the knockout stages.

Busujju took the lead in the 36th minute from Shafic Kakande’s penalty after midfielder Ivan Irinimbabazi was brought down inside the penalty area.

Following a sloppy first half, Busiro stepped up and levelled matters in the 54th minute, Alex Kalibwami tapped in Gerald Ogwet’s low cross from the left flank.

Three minutes later, Arafat Usama scored Busiro’s second, beating Busujju defenders to head in Desty Mubiru’s cross past Busujju’s stranded custodian Henry Kalule.

Lukungu’s charges started on a high putting seven past Buvuma in their first game of Bulange group.

Busiro continue to dominate Bulange group as they top the log with six points scoring nine goals in their two games.

They will return to action on Sunday, January 3, 2021, as they face Kyaggwe before they lock horns with Buwekula on January 5, in their last group game.
