Four-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC have sacked deputy head coach Baker Mbowa from his role, less than a year since his appointment.
The tactician was made head coach, Sam Timbe’s assistant in April 2022, but URA’s poor first half of the 2022/23 campaign has forced the developments.
“We wish to announce that Baker Mbowa has been relieved of his duties as an assistant coach at URA FC with immediate effect,” partly said a Monday communication from the club.
“For now, Timbe remains head coach and his new assistant will be named very soon,” revealed the statement.
The Tax Collectors have endured an abysmal season as they currently lie 11th on the 15-team table with 14 points in just as many games.
The Taxmen failed to master a victory in each of their past seven games, as they lost twice and drew five times.
Overall, they have only won twice in the entirety of the first round, managing eight draws and four defeats.
