Plans are underway to have at least 100 fans of the Mambas of Mozambique fly in to attend next month’s AFCON 2021 qualifier clash against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Douala-Cameroon.
This Pan-African Sports News Agency understands that the Government of Mozambique and the Mozambique Football Federation plan to reach out to Cameroonian and present a proposal that will allow up to 100 fans attend the game in Douala.
The long-awaited clash will be played on November 12, at the Douala Stadium and represents a key fixture in Mozambique’s quest to return to Cameroon for the AFCON in June 2022.
Mozambique coach Luís Gonçalves has set sights on picking up positive results in the qualifying double header against Cameroon guided by his compatriot António Conceição da Silva Oliveira.
So far, both nations are unbeaten in the qualifiers, with four points apiece from two games.
The first game in Douala is going to be the fifth meeting between the two nations.
In the previous four, Mozambique has won one with Cameroon winning the rest including a 6-1 thumping in April 1999 during the AFCON qualifiers.
