It’s no secret that KCCA FC will start their journey of the 2018/2019 Total CAF Confederation Cup at the first round stage of the competition and the opponent has been named, it’s Mtibwa Sugar of Tanzania.

The two sides will first faceoff on December 15th at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo with the return leg slated for a week’s time in Tanzania.

The current holders of the Tanzania FA Cup who are debutants on the continent eliminated Northern Dynamo of Seychelles 5-0 on aggregate having won the first leg in Tanzania 4-0.

The result might give an insight of the kind of opponent KCCA FC will be facing especially after keeping two clean sheets over two legs

The return leg is lasted for the following weekend in Dar es Salaam at Chamazi Stadium which accommodates 7,000 spectators.

Mtibwa also boasts of a youthful side with seven players in the roaster playing with the national U23 Tanzania side called the Warriors.

Kelvin Sabato, Salum Kihimbwa, Ismail Aidan, Dickson Job, Kibwana Ally Shomary, Nickson Kibabage and Abuutwalib Msher are some of the notable names expected to feature against an equally star-studded international KCCA FC side.

KCCA FC didn’t play the preliminary of the competition and got a buy into the next round, something that has been credited to their recent impressive run on the continent.

The 12 time Ugandan champions first played in the group stage of the CAF competition in 2017 when they qualified for CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

They managed to write the script again this year when they played in the group stages of the CAF Champions League but also putting up spirited performances against Esperance and Al Anly in Tunisia and Egypt respectively.
