Makerere University Business School (Mubs) is set to lock horns with Uganda Christian University (UCU) as the former launches their quest for a third Pepsi Uganda University Football League title on Tuesday at Nakawa.
The two time champions don’t have a very impressive record against UCU in the recent past having lost to the Mukono based side over two legs last season.
“We always come into this competition as favorites and we want it to stay that way, we have prepared adequately well and we want to reclaim our past glory,” he added.
“I believe in my team, I respect my opponent they have a good record against us but records are meant to be broken,” Mubs’ coach Charles Ayiekoh told www.fotoball-256.com.
While Mubs are searching for a third title, UCU are eyeing for a first and their head coach Jimmy Mwera is confident that search can roll off positively.
“Yes we have a good record against them (Mubs) but they are a good side and when playing a good side, you must bring your A game,” Mwera said.
“We are in a position were we believe we can compete and because of that, we also want to give this title a shot and see if we can claim it at the end of season,” added Mwera.
The two teams are pooled in Group D alongside International University of East Africa, and former champions Kampala University, the latter two played out a goalless draw on Saturday.
