Vipers SC’s new first-choice goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza became the second shot-stopper to clinch the Fortbet Real Stars Award. Joel Mutakubwa was the first goalkeeper to win it in January 2019.
Mundekereza has had a brilliant start to life at the Kitende-based outfit where he has only conceded one goal in as many games.
He kept four clean sheets on the continent as Vipers qualified for the group stages of the CAF Champions League for the first time in their history. Two apiece against Olympic Real de Bangui and TP Mazembe
Vipers and Mazembe drew 0-0 on aggregate after two legs forcing the game into post-match penalties which the former won 4-2 with Mudekereza an instrumental figure.

Mudekereza has so far been beaten once by Rogers Mato as the Venoms were edged 1-0 by rivals KCCA in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Lugogo a week ago.
To win the gong, he shrugged off competition from Arua Hill SC defender Rashid Toha, and BUL FC forward Richard Wandyaka.
At the awards ceremony held at Route256 Restaurant, Lugogo on Tuesday, November 1st, outstanding performers in basketball, cricket, golf, and woodball were also rewarded.
Rose Akon, Immaculate Nakisuyi, Andrew Ssekibejja, and Christine Birungi were rewarded in basketball, cricket, golf, and woodball respectively.
