Striker Bashir Mutanda has vowed to put up a stiff fight for the top scorers’ boot ahead of 2020/2021 season after completing a move to Mbarara City.
Mutanda was officially unveiled as a Mbarara City player on Wednesday morning and he signed a two-year contract.
“I will work hard to see that I score the goals because I need to finish as top scorer,” Mutanda said during his unveiling at Kati Kati restaurant.
“Together with my teammates, we want to improve the general performance of the club,” he added.
He joined the Ankole Lions as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with SC Villa in June and he opted not to renew it.
During his two-year stay at SC Villa, Mutanda managed 15 goals but 13 of those came during the 2018/19 season.
He becomes Mbarara’s third signing in this transfer window joining Ronald Edwok and Godfrey Kalungi who were signed from Light SS.
