Former KCCA FC manager Mutebi will leave Uganda for Rwanda in the next 24 hours, where he is expected to sign with Kiyovu Sports club Football256 can confirm.
The duration of his deal is not yet clear but the former Cranes tactician is expected to earn a salary in the range of US$5,000 and US$10,000 and the club has agreed to pay him six months in advance.
Mutebi is expected to replace the sacked Olivier Karekezi and his assistant Banamwana camarade.
Mutebi who did his COVID-19 test on Monday morning has been given the freedom to appoint his own backroom staff.
What is not clear though is whether he will go with his trusted soldiers in Badru Kaddu, Nelson Magera, and Robert Kabuye. The trio is still under contract at KCCA FC at the end of the current season.
But their future at Lugogo solely depends on whether Morley Byekwaso would want to continue working with them or not beyond this season.
Outside winning titles at Lugogo, Mutebi is most remembered for giving young players from the academy an opportunity.
At Kiyovu he is also been tasked with revamping the academy and making sure players come through straight to the main team.
Mike left KCCA FC as a winner, with three league titles and two Uganda Cups to show off, he joins a side that is hungry for success, their last league title came in 1993
They have won five league titles, three trophies, and one super cup, and were the only Rwandan club to go a whole season unbeaten in 1990.
Kiyovu Sports Club was also the first Rwanda football team to join the Football League, between 1948 and 1957.
