It’s now official that KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi will be unveiled as the new coach of Vipers Sports Club before the start of the 2019/2020 season.
Mutebi who has guided KCCA FC to two league title and two Uganda Cups agreed to terms to coach the three-time champions on a four-year deal.
“It’s true I will be coaching Vipers next season,” Mutebi told www.football-256.com.
“I have a duty to develop the game and I believe I have done my part at KCCA FC, it’s now time to also help another team realize their potential,” he added.
Mutebi is expected to replace Micheal Nam Ouma and Edward Golola who are currently managing the technical affairs of the club on interim basis.
It’s not clear though whether Mutebi will work with the coaching staff at Kitende or come with his own backroom staff like the norm has been everywhere he has worked.
This comes at a time when the two sides are set to meet in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Thursday in Lugogo.
KCCA lead the league log on 52 points, four points behind second-placed Vipers, both teams are looking at the league as their only opportunity to play again on the continent.
The news of Mutebi leaving KCCA FC for Vipers won’t be appreciated by many Lugogo fans but they need to keep calm as we say ‘Happy Fools Day’.
