Nyamityobora FC head coach Asaph Mwebaze believes that his side is capable of collecting maximum points against the reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC.

The two sides meet on Tuesday at Kakyekya Stadium, Nyamityobora hoping to build on their 4-1 win over Police, one many thought was a one off.

Mwebaze and company would love to prove it wasn’t, only way they can do is by picking all three points against an experienced Vipers side.

“The 4-1 against Police FC in the previous game gave us belief, courage and motivation that we can win this game also,” Mwebaze told

“The good thing is that we are at home and my squad is full with no any injury scares,” he added before revealing the strategy he will employ to frustrate his visitors.

“I will park the bus to deny them from scoring, and then catch them on counter attacks. I expect three points from this game however much we are playing defending champions.”

“Our first priority is surviving the relegation, then after that we shall see what to do next,” he added.

Nyamityobora comes into this game seated 14th on the 16 team log with 12 points from 16 games played.

They have managed only three wins, three draws and have  lost 10 games scoring 17 goals and conceding 26 in the process.

They will hope to rely on striker Ibrahim Juma Dada to deliver the goods like he did against Police, he scored three then and assisted Damian Nakalema’s goal.

Micheal Nam Ouma and Vipers won’t have Ibrahim Kiyemba who is suspended for this encounter after being sent off against Kirinya-Jinja SS FC. Either Henry Katongole, Geofrey Wasswa or Ibrahim Tembo will play in right back.

Moses Waiswa did not make the trip to Mbarara implying Brian Nkuubi, Abraham Ndugwa or Tom Masiko will partner Tadeo Lwanga and Rahmat Ssenfuka in the midfield.

Joseph Janjali and Yayo Lutimba return to the squad after being dropped last time. Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza is likely to make his Vipers debut after completing his switch from Ethiopia.

The Venoms are second on the log with 34 points from 16 games, they have won nine games, drawn seven and yet to lose any game. They have scored 23 goals conceding on ten occasions.

A win for Vipers will help them pound more pressure on table leaders KCCA FC who are just three points ahead of the Kitende based club.
