The Uganda Cubs (U20) tactician Jackson Magera believes that his boys performed well despite a loss to Burundi U-20 National Team.
Goals by Cedric Mavugo and Bienvenue Kanakimana in each half gave the Burundi U20 side a 2-0 win over the U17 side preparing for the April Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Tanzania.
“It was a very good game, the boys have played well even though we have lost,” told www.football-256.com before adding.
“There was a fear factor in the first minutes which made us concede the first goal, and again towards the end of the game they again did a childish mistake to concede a second.”
“This game gave us a very good image, we are going to improve the boys’ decision making and confidence.
“It was a fantastic display because the boys created several chances, so we are going to work on how we can convert those chances,” he added.
The game was meant to prepare Burundi for the upcoming Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations which will be played from February 2 -17, 2019 in Niger.
