Rumours of Simba Queens’ interest in She Corporate skipper Phionah Nabbumba continue to gather pace by the day, with some reports confirming a deal is not farfetched.
Apparently, the talented midfielder impressed the regional giants in the recently concluded CECAFA Women’s qualifications for the CAF Champions League.
“Yes, I have had about the interests and it’s only exciting that my hard work is being recognized,” said Nabbumba in an interview with Football256.
“If a deal comes to join them, then the management will deal with it and see what best suits me and my team,” she added.
At the tournament in Tanzania, she featured in five matches, scoring six and assisting five times for the FUFA Women’s Super League champions.
Nabbumba also helped them reach the final, where they were beaten by Simba, eventually missing out on a spot in the coveted Champions League.
She was also keen to add that whether the move works out or not, her focus is fully on Corporate.
“My entire focus is on helping my team defend the league title and also to go back to the champions league Qualifiers.”
Nabbumba was the Most Valuable Player in the 2021/22 Super League and was part of the Crested Cranes team that played at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
