After temporarily taking his side to 45 points level with KCCA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league with a 2-0 win over Express on Friday at Kitende, Vipers head coach Micheal Nam Ouma is anticipating a tight run till May.
The Kenyan tactician revealed to www.football-256.com that the final games of the season will determine the champion.
“The last matches in May will determine the champion, no one wants to give in easily and it’s making the competition very tight for us and our competitors,” he said.
“It’s a very good thing because that means everyone is working very hard for results and making it interesting for the fans.”
With their first leg match ending in a one all draw at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, Ouma was pleased with Friday’s result at Kitende.
“The team played well accordingly, we created many chances but we could only score two it’s not a bad thing, we just need to improve on what we already know,” Ouma noted.
Having Dan Sserunkuuma back on starting eleven, and finishing the game with a brace to take his tally to 11 goals, the Kenyan tactician stated that players must have a rest every now and then if the team is to regain it’s consistence.
“These players are not machines, you need to notice when they need a rest and you give it to them to help them rediscover themselves. Building team consistence is a process and we will be there, he concluded.
Vipers’ next league fixture is a visit to 14th placed Ndejje University on Tuesday while Express will hosts Mbarara City at Wankulukuku on Monday.
