Nyamityobora Football Club hope to bid farewell to the relegation monster after they unveiled new players on Sunday ahead of the second round of the 2018/2019 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Mbarara based club added new eight players to their team a on Sunday at team’s training ground in Kijungu-Mbarara, tactician Asaph Mwebaze believes the new acquisitions will help the side revive their season.
“We have brought in eight new players, who will help us in the second round starting on Tuesday; we hope they will help us acquire the points that will get us out of the relegation zone,” Mwebaze said.
“We trust these new players and we feel they are the ones we need to change our results. We don’t know what will be in training tomorrow (Monday) but we hope all the eight players will be competing for places to start the game on Tuesday,” he added.
The new recruits includes Denis Otim from Mbarara High School, Joel Ayoku from Doves All Stars, Mujuni Edgar from Agape Lions FC, John Sserunjogi from Kikyusa FC and Damien Nakalanda from Water FC. The others are Fred Mayindi from Riverside Forest Park FC, James Tongi from Bweyogerere FC and Peter Mutebi from SC Villa youths system.
Nyamityobora’s next league outing is against Police FC at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Tuesday, they currently occupy 14th position on the 16 team log with nine points. The Banyakare have managed only two wins, drawing three and losing ten games. They have managed to score thirteen goals, conceding twenty five goals.
