Express FC head coach James Odoch is hopeful that newly acquired striker Mustapha Anwaru Ntege will score a lot of goals for the ‘Mukwano Gwabangi’.
Ntege becomes the Red Eagles’ sixth signing in the ongoing transfer window having signed a two-year contract from Busoga United.
“We are glad to have Anwaru Ntege join us because he is a proven player in the league,” Odoch told the club media after the player’s unveiling on Tuesday.
“He is going to give us options in the final third of the pitch especially in looking for goals.”
The seven-time Uganda Premier League champions have lost a host of players including strikers Erick Kambale and George Ssenkaaba.
In a bid to replace them, the Wankulukuku-based outfit have landed Ntege and Marvin Oshaba on their squad.
Upon putting pen to paper, Ntege noted that his ultimate target is to be amongst the leading goal scorers next season.
“I am excited to join Express FC, I have been a club fan, and I desire to help the club meet its targets.”
“And I am also looking forward to being one of the top scorers in the league,” he noted.
Last season while at Busoga, the striker made 26 appearances across all competitions managing 12 goals.
Besides Ntege and Oshaba, Joseph Dhata, Andrew Kaggwa, Hamim Ssemakula, Benjamin Gakumba, and Kada Bitakazibwa are the other new signing Express have made so far.
