Uganda Cranes defender Halid Lwaliwa has finally completed a move to North Macedonian top-tier outfit FK Bregalinica Stip.
The experienced defender has penned down a two-year employment contract with the Fudbalski Klub, who currently lie fifth with ten points, in the Macedonia First League.
The 26 year old has spent eight years at Vipers SC, a team he joined from their feeder side, St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende in 2014.
At the time of his departure, Lwaliwa had established himself as a great and leaves a legacy as one of the team’s longest servants.
He won four Uganda Premier League titles at Kitende in 2015, 2017/18, 2019/20 and 2021/22.
He is also a two-time winner of the Uganda Cup (2016 and 2021) with the Kitende outfit. He also won the Uganda Super Cup and the Pilsner Super Cup in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
At his new home, Lwaliwa has become just the eighth non citizen and the only African player on the roaster.
Bregalnica was founded in 1921, 101 years ago, hosting their games at the Gradski Stadium, with Ilčo Gjorgioski their head coach.
They joined the top-flight in the 2021/22 campaign, eventually finishing seventh on the 12-team log.
