Uganda Premier League side URA FC have confirmed the departure of winger Joackiam Ojera on loan to Rayon Sports FC.
The pacy attacker joins the Rwandan side for the next five months, as they seek to clinch the 2022/23 league title.
“We would like to announce that our right winger Joachim Ojera has joined Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sports FC on loan for a period of five months until end of the season after both parties reaching an agreement” confirmed URA via their website.
“The deal becomes the first foreign loan transfer in the history of URA FC. We thank Ojera for his services while at the club and wish him the best at Rayon Sports.”
The winger broke through to the scene in 2018 under Sam Ssimbwa following an impressive performance at St. Juliana SS Gayaza.
Ojera, alongside former captain Shafik Kagimu was suspended by URA after disagreeing on salary reductions.
The winger guided Lango Province to the FUFA Drum final that they lost 3-2 on aggregate to West Nile Province after a 2-0 loss at Greenlight Stadium in the first leg and a 2-1 victory at Akibua Memorial Stadium in the second leg.
He scored the second goal after Dickens Okwir had given them the lead but Rashid Toha’s second half freekick decided the tie.
Ojera joins another Ugandan Musa Esenu who also plies his trade with the Nyanza based club. Rayon Sport FC are second on the log with 31 points after 16 matches.
He becomes the third forward to depart the club after Derrick Nsibambi joined Oman professional League side Albashaer and George Ssenkaba who joined FUFA Big League leaders Kitara FC.
