In their quest for a main shirt sponsor, Onduparaka Football Club on Thursday morning unveiled telecommunication company MTN as their official merchandise partner.
The partnership worth Shs300m will run from January 31st 2019 to June 30th, 2020 and will have the Arua based club carry the MTN logo on all their merchandise.
From the playing jerseys, training kits, travelling wear and all related products by the club put out there for the general public to purchase or access.
“We’re thrilled to have renewed our sponsorship with Onduparaka FC. Onduparaka’s consistency, fan base and success in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) remains attractive for our sponsorship package,” said MTN Senior Manager Brand and Communications, Martin Sebuliba.
“It was an easy decision for us to renew the sponsorship and become the merchandise sponsors,” he added.
Apart from being the official merchandise partner, the company will also make use of the image rights of the Onduparaka players as club chairman Benjamin Nyakuni noted that the sponsorship will continue to enable the club to keep growing and meet some of its financial obligations.
“We deeply appreciate the willingness with which MTN has and continues to sponsor our efforts towards making our region proud and supporting young people to attain their highest potential through the beautiful game,” Nyakuni noted.
“We thank MTN for having faith in us and seeing the value in associating with the Onduparaka FC brand. We sincerely hope that this association will be maintained in our future endeavours,” he added.
On the same occasion, Onduparaka unveiled the new kit they will be using going into the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
That kit will be on show this Saturday when fifth placed Onduparaka visit 10th placed Bright Stars at the Champion Stadium in Mwererwe.
