Onduparaka FC chief executive officer Pius Bamwange believes that the penalties imposed on his club by the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel were fair and deserved.

On March 18, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel suspended Onduparaka FC shot-stopper Nicholas Sebwato for two FUFA Competitions matches while the club was fined UGX 1,000,000 (one million Uganda shillings).

“All the penalties were normal and fair on us because they are well in the rules and regulations that govern the competetions,” Bamwange told www.football-256.com.

“As a club, we are supposed to respect the regulations and of course abide with them,” he added.

Sebwato was banned due to his refusal to change his red jersey which colliding with their colour the visitors Vipers SC where putting on.

This prompted Vipers to change their jersey colour which consequently led to the delay of the match kick off by five minutes.

The FUFA competition rules are very clear with article 28 section two that talks about colour, jersey and strips.

“Where only the home team goalkeeper colour clashes with the outfield players’ jersey of the visiting team, the home team goalkeeper shall change to another colour as approved by the referee,” the rule states.

The Arua based club was fined UGX1M due to its failure to control their goalkeeper, in the same game, an unidentified Onduparaka FC fan threw a bottle on to the field of play during the match.

All these incidents happened in Onduparaka’s barren stalemate against Vipers SC on 26th February 2019 at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Sebwato is set to miss Ondupraka’s next two league fixtures against SC Villa on March 27th and Tooro United on April 6th, both to be played in Arua.

The caterpillars had also been also deducted two points and two goals from those accumulated but later the FUFA disciplinary panel suspended this sanction.
